Join Cub Scouts
What is the Purpose of Cub Scouting?
 Cub Scouting is a year-round, family-oriented part of the Boys Scouts of America (BSA) program designed for boys who are in the first grade through fifth grade.
Parents, leaders, and organizations work together to achieve the ten purposes of Cub Scouting:
- Character Development
- Spiritual Growth
- Good Citizenship
- Sportsmanship and Fitness
- Family Understanding
- Respectful Relationships
- Personal Achievement
- Friendly Service
- Fun and Adventure
- Preparation for By Scouts
Dues
Collected each fall, dues are $35 per calendar year and help to cover expenses incurred by each scout for the following year (January through December). Boys joining the pack in the spring, will not pay dues until fall.
The dues collected from each boy covers:
- Council Dues
- Awards
- Subscription to Boys Life magazine
In addition to dues, parents are responsible for purchasing:
- Uniform
- One-time patches (Council Emblem, Pack numerals, Den numerals, World Crest)
- Neckerchief and slide
- Handbook
A Popcorn Sale Fundraiser held each fall helps cover expenses for pack events. Parents are responsible for expenses related to Summer Camps, Day camps, and other special Council and/or District events.
Uniform
Scouts are expected to wear uniforms to den meetings, pack meetings, and special events.
Everyone is Welcome at Pack 35
The goal of Pack 35 is to involve as many boys as possible in the Cub Scout experience. With that goal in mind, Pack 35 does not want financial situations to keep a child out of Cub Scouts. We will be happy to work with parents through payment plans or scholarships for both dues and uniform needs. If you have any questions in this area, please contact the Cubmaster or Treasurer. All inquiries will be dealt with on a confidential basis.
