Pack Information
Pack 35
Established in ???, Pack 35 is a Cub Scout Pack formed to serve the students and families of the Paxton, Illinois area. Pack 35 is chartered by the Paxton Church of Christ and is part of the ??? District, which is one of three districts comprising the Prairielands Council.
Pack Meetings
The Pack meets the first Tuesday of each month (September through May) at the Church of Christ and is the highlight of the month's den meetings and activities. The pack meeting provides a place for dens to showcase their skills and projects. It also provides opportunities for parents and families to be involved with their boys, and it is a chance to recognize boys, parents, and leaders.
The pack meeting program includes open and closing ceremonies, news and announcements, recognition of boys who have earned awards, presentation of skits and demonstration of skills by dens, participation in a special activity, and exhibits of things the boys have made at home and at den meetings during the month. The pack meeting is planned around a monthly theme and is led by the Cubmaster, with the help of other adult pack leaders.
Pack Leadership
The Pack is run completely by adult volunteers who meet monthly to plan Pack activities and meetings. These volunteers comprise the Pack Committee, which consists of the Pack Committee Chairperson, Cubmaster, Assistant Cubmaster, Secretary, Treasurer, and Den Leaders. See the Leaders page for a complete listing of the Pack Committee members and Den leaders.
Because trained leaders offer better quality programs and help retain boys in the Scouting program, the Pack is committed to supporting ongoing leader training efforts. Pack leaders attend brief training sessions to learn more about their specific responsibilities and the available resources within the Council. Basic and advanced trainings are offered at several different times during the year.
Pack Committee Meetings
The Pack Committee meets the first Wednesday of each month. We welcome parents to attend these meetings and encourage them to call leaders with questions at any time.
